Fundraising At The Ballpark

Knock your organization's fundraising goals out of the park!

 

Spectra Food Services & Hospitality is looking for spirited, service-oriented volunteer groups to provide first-class guest service in our concession stands and in-seat vending. Spectra Food Services & Hospitality has worked with dozens of volunteer groups to help supplement its workforce at Bowie Baysox Home Games and donate thousands of dollars to those oragnizations. Participating groups in the fundraising program have included: School Band Boosters, Churches, Sports Tteams, Dance & Cheerleading Clubs, Civic Organizations (such as the Civitans, Rotary and Jaycees). Your non-profit organization would staff one of our concession stands during a Baysox game and would earn a percentage of net sales made by that stand.

 

Staffing:

In order to staff a concession stand, you and your organization would need to provide individuals to work as cashiers and back-line workers for food preparation. Your group is responsible for operating the stand from start to finish. This includes helping count beginning inventory, handling money, preparing items for sale, serving the customer and end of night cleanup.

 

Earning Potential:

Your group earns a commission based on the net sales from your stand, less sales tax. Your earnings will vary based on the size/location of your stand verses the attendance of the event. Commission percentages range from 8% (for supplying approximately 5 to 15 workers for a smaller stand) to 12% (for supplying approximately 16 to 35 workers for a larger stand). Minimum guarantees are also given.

 

Joining Foods For Funds:

In order to join, your volunteer group will need to have or obtain a Not For Profit Federal ID Number (501-C-3 Status OR 501 C-8 status).   This can be obtained through the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. This is not the same as a tax exempt number. Liability insurance will also need to be obtained, or a percentage will be docked from your commission per contract.
